Water Quality Monitoring via Satellite – Anti-Algae Project / Sorocaba-SP
ORBTY participated in an innovative water quality project in collaboration with the companies Águas de Votorantim and Anti-Algas.
ORBTY used spatial monitoring to validate an innovative technology that prevents the development of algae blooms in reservoirs. The company Anti-Algas developed a solution to reduce algae blooms in reservoirs based on the emission of ultrasound within the water column. This technology affects the buoyancy system of the algae, preventing them from reaching the water surface to perform photosynthesis.

In this regard, ORBTY, in collaboration with Anti-Algas, employed the ultrasound system alongside spatial monitoring for a public water supply reservoir in the city of Votorantim (SP), for the sanitation company Águas de Votorantim. ORBTY utilized the latest technologies to continuously monitor the average concentration of chlorophyll-a, using satellites such as Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 and 9.
